Club Policy

Fencers of the Atlantic Fencing Academy will treat themselves and each other with respect. All fencers and visitors will place safety first. Members of the club will always welcome, help, and advise newcomers.

All participants have to wear adequate protective equipment while fencing. Long pants or fencing knickers are required for advanced students when fencing with each other. Sweat pants or warm-up pants that allow free movement are acceptable for the novice fencer. Footwear should be some type of indoor sneaker, i.e. court shoes, flat soled sneakers, tennis shoes or fencing shoes. Street shoes are not acceptable in class. Dust, dirt or water on the floor could create dangerous situations leading to injuries. In Competition or Intermediate classes and at bouting, full fencing attire is required. Fencers have to be covered from head to toe with protective equipment - no exception! Good quality fencing equipment is available in the AFC pro-shop.

Holidays and other closings are noted on the club calendar at http://AtlanticFencing.com . Fencers are expected to attend the same class every week. Only with coach approval can you move up or to another class. Be on time for your group lesson. Arrive 15 minutes earlier for your private lesson as to have adequate time to warm-up.

Withdrawal from classes will be accepted for valid medical reasons only. Missed classes can be made up only in the same month and with coach approval. Private lessons must be cancelled only 24 hours prior to lesson or you will be billed for same. Missed private lessons can be made up only in group lessons. No carry over for missed group or private lessons from one month to another will be allowed. Class tuitions will not be prorated.

Payments are due at the first week of the month or at the time of lesson, class or bouting (floor fee). Fee of the conditioning class is due at the time of the class.
